Alias Grace Trailer: Margaret Atwood and Murder

Margaret Atwood fans take note, as the illustrious author’s work is being adapted for TV once again in Netflix’s upcoming and very Canadian Alias Grace, a six-part limited series based on her historical-fiction novel of the same name. Sarah Gadon stars as Grace Marks, who in 1843 was convicted of double homicide — although debate has lasted over whether or not Marks actually played a role in the murders or was just an unknowing witness.

Alicia Keys Is in a Broadway State of Mind

This girl is on fire. Alicia Keys will give her regards to Broadway. The singer’s musical Hell’s Kitchen will transfer this spring from the Public Theater to the Shubert Theatre. “What does it mean to have your dreams realized as the show moves to Broadway and be a part of this season and community?” Keys said in a voice note shared with Vulture. “Honestly, I just can’t believe it.

Alicia Vikander Will Star As Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, Continue Her Streak of Being in All the Movi

Alicia Vikander. We all may have thought that Daisy Ridley was going to be the new Lara Croft. But just like Kate Winslet at the Oscars, Daisy has lost out to Alicia Vikander. Or rather, contract negotiations of some sort transpired and Vikander took the role in the Tomb Raider reboot. Fellow Scandinavian Roar Uthaug, who directed Norwegian blockbuster The Wave, will direct the film, which will “tell the story of a young and untested Croft fighting to survive her first adventure.

Alita: Battle Angel Is Ungainly, Hokey, and Kinda Charming

The most impressive aspect of Alita: Battle Angel is its cliffhanger ending. The entire film teases a shadowy Big Bad, who is only seen in silhouette and then in the film’s final moments, played by a Surprise Big Name Actor, is alive and well and waiting to be conquered by our titular cyborg heroine. The impressiveness isn’t the execution of this ending, but that it exists at all. Clearly, director Robert Rodriguez and producer James Cameron believe the world will catch Alita Fever.

All 15 Classic Godzilla Movies, Ranked

This article originally ran in 2019 and is being republished with the release of Godzilla vs. Kong. It might seem that there are only so many types of stories you could tell with a giant lizard, but Godzilla has repeatedly proven otherwise. The big guy made his debut in the 1954 film, Gojira (he took his more familiar name in the Americanized version), as an unmistakable stand-in for the atomic bombs that had devastated Japan less than a decade before.

All 27 Pixar Movies, Ranked

This previously published story has been updated to include Elemental. Trying to rank all 27 Pixar feature films in order of quality is like trying to rank your children by how much you love them. None of these movies is bad, but when you’ve made 27 films, one of them has to be No. 27 and one of them has to be No. 1. We tried to keep context in mind — Toy Story had an ability to blow your mind in 1995 the way nothing could today — and also ambition: In the world of children’s entertainment, nothing has set Pixar apart more than its burning desire not to coast or mail it in.

All Hail The New Drip King: How Online Were You In June?

Featuring not one, but two different kinds of sub implosions. Video: Vulture; Videos: beyoncegarden, georainbolt, jobscantfindme, whoisjakenovak In between actual breaking-news push alerts — a defection, a blackout, and a literal implosion — TikTok was fighting about bagels, influencers were shilling for Shein, and Colleen Ballinger found a way to get canceled, for the same thing, again. At this rate, Mr. Beast, one of the most followed humans in the world, could have actually been in that submersible, and it would still be just one of the wildest things that happened this month.

All of Jude Laws Looks on The Young Pope

As Pope Pius XIII in The Young Pope, Jude Law is sexy and he knows it. Unlike great narcissists of history, however, he doesn’t like showing off his beauty: He declines to reveal his face in his first public address to the faithful from St. Peter’s Basilica and forbids people from taking his photograph. He likes to maintain the papal mystique, if you will. But just because Lenny Belardo is a private fellow doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy fashion.
