Jerry Minor is one of those naturally likable everyman types comedy aficionados should recognize from supporting parts in any number of iconic movies and TV shows over the past quarter century — Mr. Show, Eastbound & Down, and Anchorman, to name a few. (Last month, he added a guest appearance on Abbott Elementary to his deep bench of credits.) But one could just as likely overlook Minor on first viewing despite a résumé as long and varied as the range of his talent.

Everybody’s favorite romcom to watch like a horror movie (behind your fingers, through gritted teeth) is coming back to the small screen. Starstruck is back, and, though Jessie (Rose Matafeo) may have learned a little something about life over the course of two seasons, the first trailer for the third installment promises just the same amount of cringe. Set two years later, Jessie and Tom (Nikesh Patel) are still broken up, he’s still a superstar with Minnie Driver as his very scary manager, and all of Jessie’s friends are moving forward with their lives.
Jessie Ware’s 2012 debut record Devotion was a wonderful, romantic, smooth as hell R&B album; her follow-up, Tough Love, is packed with just as many lovely, dynamic, powerful, restrained, beautiful songs. To put it simply: We are hooked. Vulture spoke to Jessie Ware about the record, working with Miguel, Ed Sheeran, and BenZel, sexy-talking breakdowns, channeling Beyoncé, and how pork buns influence her.
How was your wedding?
I first saw Jim Gaffigan perform in 2013 at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles for a hundred skinny 20-something hipsters. He was older than anyone else on the bill by ten years, and he was wearing a bright canary-yellow T-shirt one might charitably describe as a little too tight. I was worried the audience might reject a mainstream dad-comic known for working “clean,” but Gaffigan was ready. The first words out of his mouth were an impression of a skeptical audience member reacting to his entrance.
Here’s Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, joined by Mariah Carey, in a video recorded backstage before a Late Night taping in which they play “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” entirely using elementary school classroom instruments. Questlove is really tearing it up on that wooden clacker.

Winnie and Franny hard at work, entertaining the nation. Greetings, comrades. Welcome to the new era of late-night television. We’re about two weeks into theGreat Late-Night Experiment of 2020, and the results have been promising. Online content from late-night shows like The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight With John Oliver currently streaming on digital platforms have been on the whole funny, intelligent, and extremely relatable, reminding the world that we are all in the same boat, sitting six feet apart.
John Cena presented the Oscar for Best Costume Design buck naked with only a strategically placed, extra-large envelope covering his front, leading many to imagine just what lurks behind the card. No matter what kind of mental math you did based on the size of the envelope, host Jimmy Kimmel said the biggest dick at the Oscars wasn’t John Cena’s. “We had John Cena onstage naked, and somehow Trump still managed to be the biggest dick of the night,” Kimmel quipped during his Jimmy Kimmel Live!
